Dental Implants

Truth is, we take our teeth for granted until they’re gone. Only then do we realize how vital strong, healthy teeth are to quality of life. Eating, speaking, smiling, and speaking in front of people are just a few of the daily tasks that suffer when a person loses teeth. Dr. Deneka understands the important role teeth play in everyday life. He believes the best option to replace missing teeth lies in the only prosthetic option that mimics nature’s design – dental implants.

Dental Implants X-RayEach natural tooth has a root that extends below the gums into the jawbone, and a crown, the part of the tooth that we see in our mouths. A solid root is important for a tooth’s stability. Bridgework, partials, and dentures do not replace the tooth root, but implants do. Many benefits come from the root-and-tooth design of dental implants.

Implants are…

  • Independent, so surrounding teeth aren’t altered
  • Solid, so replacement teeth function like natural teeth
  • Stimulating to the jawbone, which reduces or eliminates bone deterioration
  • Anchors that can hold a denture, partial, or bridge in place
  • Designed to last a lifetime if cared for properly
  • Easier to care for than dentures or partial dentures

If you and Dr. Deneka determine that dental implants are a good solution to replace your missing teeth, Dr. Deneka will plan your case with an oral surgeon or periodontist. Treatment will involve a minor oral surgery in which the implants will be secured into the jawbone where teeth roots are missing. Because implants are made of biocompatible titanium, jawbone naturally fuses with them to form a solid foundation. After your mouth heals, Dr. Deneka will place crowns or a prosthetic on the implants. Learn more about implant-supported dentures here.

You’ll enjoy a new lease on life with strong, solid, attractive dental implants. Eat whatever you like, whenever you like, smile with confidence, and talk to people knowing that your smile looks sensational.
