Preventive Dentistry & Technology

Preventive care is the foundation of good dental health. We consider checkups and hygiene treatments priority and provide a comprehensive oral health evaluation at these visits. At checkups, we take digital dental X-rays, intraoral photos, and may scan each tooth for decay with our cavity-detection laser, DIAGNOdent. We can also check your soft tissues with VELscope, an early oral cancer detection tool. Dr. Deneka will evaluate your bite, head, and neck for problems, as well.

At your cleaning, our hygienist will review your medical history, evaluate the health of your gums, and provide you with important self-maintenance tips to help you optimize your home care. She will determine the level of hygiene treatment you need, then thoroughly clean your teeth. If she notices that you have or appear to be susceptible to gum disease, she will recommend appropriate therapy to return optimal oral health for your improved overall health.

We have taken a number of steps to ensure all of our patients and family feel comfortable, relaxed, and secure during dental visits.
